Mediterranean Awards

In 1996, the Fondazione Mediterraneo instituted the Mediterranean Awards (with various categories) that are granted every year to eminent personalities from the worlds of arts and culture, politics and science and social disciplines, whose actions have contributed to reducing tensions, breaking down cultural barriers and developing shared values in the Greater Mediterranean.

This Award is considered one of the most prestigious acknowledgements in the world.

Various events are associated with the Mediterranean Award, such as the “Euro-Mediterranean Concert for Dialogue Among Cultures” and the “Epiphany Concert” (organized by the Cultural Centre “Oltre il Chiostro” in collaboration with the Fondazione Mediterraneo. The latter event is broadcast by RaiUno and Rai International throughout the world every year on the morning of January 6th).

 

 

During a ceremony held at the premises of the Euromed University of Fez, the "Mediterranean Prize Culture 2024" was awarded to H.E. Fouzi Lekjaa, Minister Delegate for the Budget of the Kingdom of Morocco and a reference point for sports culture in the Maghreb country.
The Award - the work "Totem for Peace" by sculptor Mario Molinari, symbol of the United States of the World - was presented by Secretary General Prof. Michele Capasso, in the presence of Pia Molinari, ambassadors from various countries and members of the United States of the World.
Present in the hall were over two thousand students from the Euromed University of Fez.

The Prize - the work "Totem for Peace" by sculptor Mario Molinari, symbol of the United States of the World - was presented by Secretary General Prof. Michele Capasso, in the presence of Pia Molinari, ambassadors from various countries and members of the United States of the World.

Professor Carlo Foresta received the "Mediterranean Award for Science and Research 2024". 
The ceremony took place at the Parthenope University in Naples in the presence of doctors, experts and political and institutional authorities.
Secretary-General Michele Capasso emphasised Prof. Foresta's profound humanity and expertise, especially in protecting against pollution that causes serious pathologies.
The award was presented as part of the event organised by Dr Fabio Perricone.

The ceremony took place in Naples at the headquarters of the United States of the World in the presence of political, institutional, religious and military authorities from various countries. 
The Prize was presented by Prof. Michele Capasso to prof. Andrea Zepponi, who was delegated to receive the award.

The ceremony took place in Naples at the headquarters of the United States of the World in the presence of political, institutional, religious and military authorities from various countries. 
The Prize was presented by Prof. Michele Capasso to Dr. Sandro Pezzoli, who was delegated to receive the award.

The ceremony took place in Naples at the headquarters of the United States of the World in the presence of political, institutional, religious and military authorities from various countries. 
The Prize was presented by Prof. Michele Capasso to Dr. Pia Molinari, who was delegated to receive the award.

The "Mediterranean Award Architecture 2024" was awarded to the memory of Balkrishna Doshi
The ceremony took place in Naples at the United States of the World headquarters in the presence of political, institutional, religious and military authorities from various countries. 
Secretary-General Michele Capasso emphasised the profound culture and humanity of Arch. Doshi.
The prize was presented by Prof. Michele Capasso to Prof. Massimo Pica Ciamarra, who was delegated to receive the award. The latter drew a portrait of the distinguished architect, emphasising his commitment to the needy and shared liveability. 
For this occasion, an issue of the international architecture magazine "Le Carré bleu" dedicated to Doshi was reprinted.

The "Mediterranean Award Architecture 2024" was awarded to the memory of  Arata Isozaki
The ceremony took place in Naples at the United States of the World headquarters in the presence of political, institutional, religious and military authorities from various countries. 
Secretary-General Michele Capasso emphasised the importance of Arch. Isozaki in contemporary architectural culture.
The Prize was presented by Prof. Michele Capasso to Prof. Pasquale Belfiore, who was delegated to receive the award. The latter drew a portrait of the illustrious architect, emphasising his role in great contemporary architecture.
