OPENED MAMT

The MAMT - Mediterranean Museum of Art, Music and Traditions opens its doors to the city of Naples and the world with a ceremony which was attended by over 1,000 guests from 45 countries.

SCHEDULE AND RESERVATIONS:

Guided tours by appointment, Monday through Friday, from 10 to 18.
Saturdays and holidays (only for groups and by appointment only) from 10 to 20.

MAMT hosts the hourglass ideated by Filippo Cannata and which symbolizes the  “Needed Time”. During the opening ceremony, at the presence of Tunisian and Moroccan Ambassadors in Italy and Parliamentar Ministry Enrico Granara had been appointed to Filippo Cannata the Award “Medal of Honour” for Architecture” 2013.

PRAYER ROOM OPENS ITS DOORS AT MAMT MUSEUM

The inauguration of “Prayer Room” at MAMT was evocative and suggestive: the place where different confessions prayed together.
In  this occasions exponents of different confessions–leaded by Imam Hamid Saydawi and by Don Antonio from Santa Maria del Parto Church of Naples- joined in prayer giving birth to an unique occasion of peace, dialogue and cooperation.

Inaugurated at MAMT the Nativity Scene donated by Giuseppe and Marco Ferrigno: an unique artwork which contains the high level knowledge of craftsmanship of the big manger scene’s artisans. The  Totem of Peace by Mario Molinari is the symbol of MAMTMediterranean Museum of Art, Music and Traditions. A large number of people joined to the opening ceremony and enjoyed Molinari’s majestic sculpture. Among the others: Naples Major De Magistris, Campania Region Culture Assessor Caterina Miraglia, MAE Ambassador Granara, Moroccan one Abouyoub, Tunisian one Mestiri, exponents of three  monoteistic religions, Procida and San Sebastiano al Vesuvio’s major and the head of Military School “Nunziatella”.

Emma Bonino,  Italian Republic Foreign Affairs Minister sent her message for the inauguration of MAMT, praising this unique museum and promised the full support of Italian Government.
