Totem for Peace

The "Totem for Peace" is a trademark duly filed in accordance with the regulations. Therefore, any initiatives undertaken by third parties using that trademark or the word "Totem for Peace" in any context and for whatever purpose, it integrates to all intents and purposes the case of trademark infringement.

The "Totem of Peace", the work of the Turin sculptor Mario Molinari, is the symbol of the "United States of the World" and represents the Peace: it was chosen in 1997 by 3,000 representatives of 181 countries and since then the "United States of the World" with the "Fondazione Mediterraneo" are spreading this universal symbol by setting up the network of "Cities for Peace".
The sculptor Mario Molinari was an artist of clear fame, sensitive to the themes of peace and dialogue between cultures, as evidenced by his numerous works and his life.
The cultural project of the "Totem of Peace" is carried out in the world by Michele Capasso: dedicated, since 1987, to the construction of dialogue as a tool for the mediation of conflicts, he combines his international experience of social and intercultural planning and planning with the professional one of architect and engineer.
Many countries have created the monumental work symbolising peace and coexistence between different peoples. Among the main ones are:

   

The sail that symbolizes the journey, the sea. On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the “Totem for Peace with the urn of the Unknown Migrant” by sculptor Mario Molinari - inaugurated by Pope Francis in 2015 - Poste Italiane has produced a “postal cancellation presented as a preview at the inauguration of the emotional itinerary of the Museum of Peace "Francis the Pope of all Peoples”.

During a visit to the Naples headquarters of the "United States of the World" and the "Museum of Peace", Dr. Bruno Vespa appreciated the section of the museum dedicated to the Turin sculptor Mario Molinari.
In particular, he dwelt on the "Totem for Peace" and the House-Museum in Turin, which he described as "a triumph of joy and colour", and hoped to be able to visit it soon.
Dr Vespa was welcomed by Secretary-General Michele Capasso and other members of the Association.

A plaque in memory of the young Santo Romano, murdered on the night of 1 to 2 November 2024 right in front of the “Totem for Peace” by sculptor Mario Molinari.
In his memory, during the day dedicated to the innocent victims, a plaque was placed next to the inscription “Totem for Peace - Molinari sculptor”, where it is written - above a red heart set in volcanic stone - “SANTO LIVES”.

The Foundation joined the event organised by the municipal administration. Departure from Via Falconi: first stop, Paolino's stele. There, the lawyer Alfredo Avella, Paolino's father, introduced the ceremony where the names of the innocent victims of crime were read out. Pages full of names read by students from the Salvemini IC and the Di Giacomo high school; by Mayor Giuseppe Panico and Deputy Mayor Assia Filosa Rossi; by teachers, representatives of public forces and ordinary citizens.
The morning continued at the municipal house for a moment of remembrance and reflection around the "Totem for Peace" by sculptor Molinari, symbol of the United States of the World. Various guests took the floor, including parliamentarian Francesco Emilio Borrelli, prosecutor Gialanella, and parish priest Don Enzo Cozzolino.
At the end of the day, the students read a memory of Paolino taken from the book "Paolino Avella - the spider" by journalist Luciana Esposito. A greeting from Santo Romano's family brought the proceedings to a close.
The Fondazione Mediterraneo ideally united the event in San Sebastiano al Vesuvio with the national one in Trapani, where Don Luigi Ciotti's message lives on: ‘Meeting the families of mafia victims is a social responsibility’.
The XXXth "Day of Remembrance and Commitment in Remembrance of Victims of the Mafia" in Trapani was marked by a message from President Michele Capasso, read out by members of the Foundation present in Sicily.

At a ceremony held at the Naples headquarters of the United States of the World and the Museum of Peace, a delegation from the Kingdom of Morocco, led by the Moroccan Ambassador to the Holy See Rajae Naji Mekkaoui, paid tribute to the "Totem for Peace" by sculptor Mario Molinari, symbol of the United States of the World. Amina Bouayach, President of the "National Council for Human Rights" of the Kingdom of Morocco, the President of the Council of Ambassadors Abdelhak Azzouzi, Consul General M'hammed Khalil and other Moroccan personalities were welcomed by Secretary-General Michele Capasso and Pia Molinari, expressing great appreciation for the work of the sculptor from Turin. Particular mention was made of the work that has been in the Moroccan House of Representatives since 2010 and will soon be visited by the Presidents of the Parliaments of various countries around the world.
