EGEMEN AND BEYHAN BAGIS VISIT THE SECTION OF THE MUSEUM OF PEACE DEDICATED TO THE SCULPTOR MARIO MOLINARI

Egemen Bagis, Turkiye's former Minister for Relations with the European Union and Ambassador to the Czech Republic (2019-2025), visited the section dedicated to the sculptor Mario Molinari at the Museum of Peace  accompanied by his wife Beyhan.
Welcomed by the Secretary-General Prof. Michele Capasso, the guests retraced the human and artistic history of the great sculptor from Turin, expressing appreciation for the monumental works he created, for the "House-museum" in Turin and, in particular, for the creation of the "Totem for Peace" symbol of the United States of the World.

BEYHAN N. BAGIS SUBSCRIBES TO THE “KIMIYYA” MANIFESTO

Beyhan N. Bagis, businesswoman from Turkiye, signed the “KIMIYYA Manifesto” for Women's Rights.
Promoted by the United States of the World, the Fondazione Mediterraneo and the 43 national networks of the "Anna Lindh Foundation", "Kimiyya" brings together more than 3 million women around the world who are committed to gender equality and human rights.

EGEMEN BAGIS VISITING THE UNITED STATES OF THE WORLD AND THE MUSEUM OF PEACE

Egemen Bagis, former Minister for Relations with the European Union of Turkey and Ambassador to the Czech Republic (2019-2025), visited the headquarters of the United States of the World and the Museum of Peace accompanied by his wife Beyhan N. Bagis.
Welcomed by Secretary-General Prof. Michele Capasso, the guests reviewed 40 years of commitment to peace by the United States of the World and the Fondazione Mediterraneo.
On this occasion, the historic visit of the then Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on 2 September 2005 was recalled, during which the statesman was accompanied by Egemen Bagis, among others. There was great emotion in seeing the images of that day on the panels and in the ‘Istanbul Room’ inaugurated on that occasion.
During the meeting, joint actions were planned in agreement with the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations (UNAOC), with which the United States of the World recently signed a memorandum of understanding.
A number of books were donated to the guests, including the Yearbook of the United States of the World and the volume “Francis, the Pope of the United States of the World” with a foreword by Miguel Àngel Moratinos.
At the conclusion of the visit, SG Capasso presented a gift of the "Cry for Peace" t-shirt.

NEW LIGHTS IN PLEBISCITO SQUARE INAUGURATED

President Michele Capasso and Dr Pia Molinari attended the ceremony to switch on the lights in Plebiscito square.
After greetings to the authorities, the main speeches. Mayor Gaetano Manfredi and Undersecretary Wanda Ferro: “Important step for the city”. The prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, inaugurating the square's new lighting, said: 'This is an important step for the redevelopment of this square, which is a symbol in the world. THE TOTEM FOR PEACE FROM NAPLES TO SREBRENICA

A copy of the "Totem of Peace"by sculptor Mario Molinari, a model for the Shrine dedicated to Pope Francis, is on its way to Srebrenica to mark the 30th anniversary of the genocide on 11 July 1995.
The work was handed over by Secretary-General Michele Capasso and Pia Molinari to the deputy mayor and president of the 30th anniversary committee Hamdija Fejzić accompanied bySadeta Suljić.
On this occasion, SG Capasso thanked the city of Srebrenica for the relic donated to the shrine dedicated to Pope Francis: the keys found in a mass grave, a symbol of the "Martyr City".

The ceremony for the inauguration of the Shrine dedicated to POPE FRANCIS, with the relics of the victims of war, migrants, starving children and "martyr cities" was held at the Maritime Station of the Port of Naples.

These were the opening words of Michele Capasso, Secretary General of the United States of the World, made up of 181 countries and 16,000 civil society organisations that organise “Peace is Action” events in various cities on five continents.

THE PREFECT OF NAPLES WELCOMES THE INTERNATIONAL DELEGATIONS ATTENDING THE CEREMONIES FOR THE SHRINE DEDICATED TO POPE FRANCIS

The Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, received the international delegations present at the ceremonies for the Shrine dedicated to Pope Francis in the Government Palace.
In his speech, the prefect underlined the role and dedication of SG Michele Capasso for peace, recalling the origins of the town of San Sebastiano al Vesuvio, in the presence of parish priest don Enzo Cozzolino.
The High Representative for the Alliance of Civilisations and UN Secretary-General of the United Nations Miguel Àngel Moratinos highlighted the role of the United States of the World and the Fondazione Mediterraneo on the international scene.
