Totem for Peace

The "Totem for Peace" is a trademark duly filed in accordance with the regulations. Therefore, any initiatives undertaken by third parties using that trademark or the word "Totem for Peace" in any context and for whatever purpose, it integrates to all intents and purposes the case of trademark infringement.

The "Totem of Peace", the work of the Turin sculptor Mario Molinari, is the symbol of the "United States of the World" and represents the Peace: it was chosen in 1997 by 3,000 representatives of 181 countries and since then the "United States of the World" with the "Fondazione Mediterraneo" are spreading this universal symbol by setting up the network of "Cities for Peace".
The sculptor Mario Molinari was an artist of clear fame, sensitive to the themes of peace and dialogue between cultures, as evidenced by his numerous works and his life.
The cultural project of the "Totem of Peace" is carried out in the world by Michele Capasso: dedicated, since 1987, to the construction of dialogue as a tool for the mediation of conflicts, he combines his international experience of social and intercultural planning and planning with the professional one of architect and engineer.
Many countries have created the monumental work symbolising peace and coexistence between different peoples. Among the main ones are:

   

The sail that symbolizes the journey, the sea. President Michele Capasso met with the president of the National Organization for Infancy in Tunisia, Chedly Srarfi, to build the monumental sculpture the “Totem for Peace” by Mario Molinari dedicated to infancy.

At a ceremony attended by 600 members of the Chouala Association, the President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso, accompanied by Driss Guerraoui (a member of the executive committee), awarded the “2012 Mediterranean Award for Civil Societyto the Chouala Association represented by its Mohamed Amadi and Abdelmaksoud Rachdi.

President Capasso emphasized the essential role play by the Chouala Association in 1975 and the value of the “Totem for Peace” as a symbol of the World Movement for Democracy.

In the presence of the Mayor of Rabat Qualalou and other regional representatives, President Capasso asserted that “The Totem for Peace” by sculptor Molinari would be created in Rabat with the colours of the Moroccan flag as a symbol of law and democracy.

The ”MEDITERRANEAN OBSERVATORY FOR CHILDREN’S RIGHTS (OMDE) is being set up. It is promoted by the Fondazione Mediterraneo in partnership with the Moroccan NATIONAL OBSERVATORY FOR CHILDREN’S RIGHTS (ONDE) and the TUNISIAN NATIONAL ORGANISATION FOR INFANCY (ONET). The latter organization serves the aim of dissemination the rights of children as the basis for future of society.

During the meeting in Rabat, the President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo, Michele Capasso, the director of the Moroccan ONDE Mustafa Denial and the President of the Tunisian Chedly Srarfi defined the organizations bye-laws and programme.

The Awards Ceremony for the “2012 Mediterranean Award for Institutions” was held on Thursday 31 May 2012, at 3:30 pm, at the NUNZIATELLA MILITARY ACADEMY.

On that occasion, the monumental work, “Totem for Peace” by sculptor Mario Molinari was placed in front of the Main Hall of the School

The Commander of the School, Colonel Bernardo Barbarotto, spoke at the ceremony expressing his personal appreciation for this initiative. The Academy considered it an honour to receive such a coveted award.

Michele Capasso, President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo, dedicated the award to all the students attending the ceremony, reminding them of its ethical value at this moment in time.

Pia Molinari, board member of the Fondazione and director of the project “Totem for Peace” also attended the ceremony, together with Vittorio di Pace, senior member of the former pupils of the Nunziatella Academy and member of the Fondazione, and Claudio Azzolini, director of institutional relations for the Fondazione Mediterraneo.

The students of the 222nd course, dressed in ceremonial uniform for the occasion, paid tribute to the “Totem for Peace” together with the former pupils led by Giuseppe Catenacci.
