MAMT||Museo Mediterraneo dell' Arte, della Musica e delle Tradizioni (EN)

The MAMT- Mediterranean Museum of Art, Music and Traditions is an institution created by the Fondazione Mediterraneo with the aim “to experience” in an interactive way, the positive emotions of Our Sea through Arts, Music and Traditions. The MAMT is one of the most important initiatives of Fondazione Mediterraneo: an active space created in order to let communicate Arts, Music and Traditions of the Mediterranean contemporary society. The awareness of a past full of ancient traditions is the base for the construction of a rational and connected humanity: the vastness of the Mediterranean area collects together the responsibility, the hard work and intelligence with the ability to share spaces and cultures. Today, more than ever, the sense of future is given by the awareness of the sorrow, of the conflicts and at the same time by the ability to share joys and bond.
Art and Music are since ever the tool of communication and sharing of the humanity that, in a particular “Mediterranean” path, allows us to overtake the violence of the human being that showed itself in his greater brutality in countries as Bosnia, Palestine, Syria and other places: as testify of this there are Bosnia, in order not to forget and Suffering and Hope in the world, exhibitions of the museum.

At the same time there are symbols inviting to meeting and hope appear in lands of desolation and Hush: The Ferrigno Nativity Scene, the exhibition a Sea, three Faiths, the Peace and the Last Neapolitan Supper are part of the Museum.
Near the Totem of Peace and other works by Mario Molinari, sculptor of the color, accompanies the lonely journey of freedom, the Dreamlike World of John Crown and the desire of participation and recognition of the role of women in the Mediterranean in the exhibition “Breaking the Veils, women artists of Islamic World”.
Fado, Flamenco, Tango and Sirtaki, the Song of Naples, the Great Lyric Operas, Arabic Music and the Classics of all the times catch the attention of the audience with the acoustic perfection of the “Music hall” of the Museum.
The section dedicated to Pino Daniele has a particular meaning.
The warm of the Mediterranean human nature and the awareness of the necessity to keep track, the the wealth and the fertility find in the “Section Architecture” – with the Associated presences of Alvaro Siza, Ciamarra Picas, Vittorio Di Pace, Nicola Pagliara, Marco Introini and others - and in the Voices of the Migrants and other strong point.
The artworks of Pietro and Rino Volpe mark Mediterranean signs in which the culture and the literature merge with the creativity making a unique collection.
A collection of HD video about the most important sites of the Campania Region will accompany the tourists of cruises and the visitors in the whole building: the ground floor facing on Municipio Square will host an info-point unique in its kind. The MAMT is also an articulated system of services in the heart of the city of Naples: the library, the emeroteque, the music hall, salt conventions, the restaurants, the Euromedcafé, the residences and the bookshop receive the visitor with sympathy and enthusiasm: that enthusiasm of the Mediterranean!

Welcomed by President Michele Capasso, students and teachers from various classes at the Aldo Moro School in Casalnuovo visited the Museum and its main emotional itineraries.
On this occasion, President Capasso gave a lecture on the fundamental values that young people must refer to in order to become “producers” of our future, pursuing ethics, social justice and peace.

Cybersecurity conference participants visit the United States of the World and the Museum of Peace.
Participants in the conference "Cybersecurity for Businesses" visited the headquarters of the United States of the World and the Museum of Peace.
Welcomed by Secretary-General Michele Capasso, they watched the emotional video and viewed the "House for Peace" project.
There was unanimous recognition for this unique and extraordinary initiative and for a site that is part of humanity's emotional heritage.

Michele Capasso, Pia Molinari and Jacopo Molinari spoke at the Forum held at the UNSA Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo, specifically at the round table discussion entitled ‘AI & ART: How is AI transforming art?’
Moderated by Prof. Amila Akagić, ETF UNSA, 12 speakers from international universities and research centres discussed the topic. AI is everywhere, but do we truly understand its impact on our society and the future we are shaping? In this panel, we focus specifically on art, as it remains one of the most sincere mirrors of social change. Art reveals not only what technology enables, but also what it means to us as human beings. The aim of this panel is to open up a space for open and thoughtful exchange, bringing together the perspectives of academics, ethics experts and artists.
The discussion was based on three key dimensions: technology, ethical responsibility and the future of human expression. Through the voices of the twelve speakers, it was highlighted how artificial intelligence is already shaping our reality and influencing artistic practice, while challenging prevailing assumptions about its role, its limitations and the choices we face as a society moving towards the future.

It is often said that “artificial intelligence is just a tool: it all depends on how you use it”. But is this really the case? Can artificial intelligence replace charcoal, a paintbrush, a camera, a printing press, a musical instrument or a synthesiser, tools that have historically made art possible at any given time?
Millions of people around the world have now experienced AI. Some have been impressed by its speed and apparent creativity, others have been disappointed or disturbed by its limitations, and still others refuse to engage with it at all. These reactions reveal that our relationship with AI is not purely technical: it is emotional, cultural and deeply human. AI does not enter a neutral space; it enters established traditions, values and ideas about authorship, competence and expression.
‘Rather than offering definitive answers, the panel invited reflection,’ said Michele Capasso. ‘What changes when creation becomes mediated by algorithms? Where does human intention begin and end? And how can we preserve space for ambiguity, vulnerability and meaning in a future increasingly shaped by intelligent systems?’ he concluded.

Two hundred students from various schools in Campania gathered at the headquarters of the “United States of the World” for the “Italian Model United Nations” meeting, organised by the United Network Association with the patronage of the “United States of the World” and in collaboration with the Mediterranean Foundation and the Museumon Peace MAMT.
On this occasion, Secretary-General Michele Capasso presented a preview of the “House for Peace” project.
