Totem for Peace
The "Totem for Peace" is a trademark duly filed in accordance with the regulations. Therefore, any initiatives undertaken by third parties using that trademark or the word "Totem for Peace" in any context and for whatever purpose, it integrates to all intents and purposes the case of trademark infringement.
The "Totem of Peace", the work of the Turin sculptor Mario Molinari, is the symbol of the "United States of the World" and represents the Peace: it was chosen in 1997 by 3,000 representatives of 181 countries and since then the "United States of the World" with the "Fondazione Mediterraneo" are spreading this universal symbol by setting up the network of "Cities for Peace".
The sculptor Mario Molinari was an artist of clear fame, sensitive to the themes of peace and dialogue between cultures, as evidenced by his numerous works and his life.
The cultural project of the "Totem of Peace" is carried out in the world by Michele Capasso: dedicated, since 1987, to the construction of dialogue as a tool for the mediation of conflicts, he combines his international experience of social and intercultural planning and planning with the professional one of architect and engineer.
Many countries have created the monumental work symbolising peace and coexistence between different peoples. Among the main ones are:
The sail that symbolizes the journey, the sea. This “Mare Nostrum” of Ours which was the cradle of civilization, the scene of clashes and battles between the people who inhabited it but also and above all of the exchange of goods and knowledge. A sea celebrated in myth where Ulysses got lost, continuing to wander in his desperate search for his way back. The sail that turns red, at dawn and dusk, at departure and return in the immutable rhythm of the Universe .

In occasion of the 25° anniversary the International Committee of the United States of the World gathered in Rome. In this occasion the main events which characterised twenty-five years have been remembered and big issues of the region as Islamic fundamentalism, the war in Syria, the problem of the migratory flows have been analysed.
For what concerns the last issue, unanimously has been decided to dedicate the “Totem of Peace” to the “Unknown Migrant”. The artwork will host a urn with the remains in order to honour the memory of who lost their lives in the sea, looking for dignity and freedom.
The proposal is to try to realize the artwork for 21 March 2015, day dedicated to the Mediterranean and Migrant, and to collocate it, in agreement with the institutions, in a symbolic city.
The IC charged the Secretary General Capasso for the realization of this last issue, checking the possibility to realize the work on the sea and, especially, in a harbour area.
The president states to have already anticipated such initiative to the President of Senate Grasso and to Cardinal Parolin.

The Ambassador of Kuwait to Rome Khalid Sheikh Ali Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received by President Michele Capasso and Pia Molinari bid to achieve the "Totem of Peace" by Mario Molinari in Kuwait City, the site of the last symbol siege by Iraq, as a sign of permanent peace for the entire Middle East region.

The City of Procida, by Resolution G.M. # 98/2014 has approved the final design and contracted the construction of the monumental work "Totem of Peace" by Mario Molinari, who will be realized in the space in front of the Church of Santa Margherita New.
In the course of an inspection which took place in the presence of the Mayor of Procida Vincenzo Capezzuto, the superintendent of Naples BBAA arch. Giorgio Cozzolino, the official arch area. Paola Bovier, councilor Domenico Scala and the President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso were checked places and finally started the work with the signing of the minutes.
The "Totem of Peace" - in addition to Procida assign the role of "Island of Peace" - includes the island between the great cities of the world who have made or who are making.

The International Committee of the "Totem of Peace" - the monumental work of the sculptor Mario Molinari which the Fondazione Mediterraneo is building in the world - the European Union has decided to donate the work "Totem of Peace" to be allocated at the site of European Council.
The ceremony will take place during the Italian Presidency of the EU.
This decision was made official by President Michele Capasso Ambassador Stefano Sannino, Deputy Permanent Representative of Italy to the EU.
The decision to build a "Peace Symbol" was adopted in 1997 by the "Euromed Civil Forum" in Naples, organized by the European Commission.
