FEDERATION ANNA LINDH ITALIA - ONLUS

 

The Federazione Anna Lindh Italia, not-for-profit, shares the aims of the Anna Lindh Foundation: created in 2004 by the European Commission together with the 42 Euro-Mediterranean countries.
The Federation's objective is to promote, support and implement the cultural and social interaction between Italy and the Euro-Mediterranean countries in various fields of action including: art, architecture, archaeology, environment, crafts, youth, women, human rights, migrants, crafts, employment, training, education, education, childhood, sports, interreligious dialogue, legality, music, food culture, empowerment, tradition, tourism, social solidarity, exchanges.
In particular, the Federation intends to implement initiatives in favour of young people, especially aimed at restoring their hope and confidence through the promotion of the "true",the "beautiful" and the "good”

The 7th edition of the ALF Italian Network Newsletter  was dedicated to the  XIth Meeting of Heads of the National Networks held in Cyprus from 8-11 November  2012.

After a long period at the helm of the ALF National Networks, Gianluca Solera, is leaving the Anna Lindh Foundation. At the meeting in Nicosia he took the opportunity to deliver a positive statement of the activities undertaken and warmly accepted the gestures of affection and esteem expressed by collaborators and Heads of the National networks.

The University of Nicosia – through its "Centre for Green Development + QZA" – organized its first ever meeting in total observance of the principles of respect for  the environment for the occasion of the “XIth Meeting of Heads of the ALF Networks”.

In his report, the director of the Centre, Mr. Marios Valiant illustrated in detail the initiatives it had undertaken.

On behalf of the Anna Lindh Foundation, Gemma Aubarell hoped that the "ALF Forum"  in Marseille would adopted the same methods.

From 8-11 November 2012, the XIth Meeting of Heads of the ALF National Networks was held in Cyprus. As Head of the Italian Network, President Capasso participated for the Fondazione Mediterraneo while Elisa Adorno presented the Istituto Paralleli del Nord Ovest

At this event, the following themes were discussed.

  • Objectives and Strategies 2012-2015
  • Budget 2013
  • Development of Networks
  • The new ALF logo
  • The ALF Mediterranean Forum in Marseille 2013

Among others, the members discussed the Arab Spring and the role that the National Networks can play.

President Michele Capasso suggested developing joint actions to valorize immigrants – a new theme for the 2013 Euromed Award – to give greater visibility to young people on the south shore of the Mediterranean.
