MAMT||Museo Mediterraneo dell' Arte, della Musica e delle Tradizioni (EN)

The MAMT- Mediterranean Museum of Art, Music and Traditions is an institution created by the Fondazione Mediterraneo with the aim “to experience” in an interactive way, the positive emotions of Our Sea through Arts, Music and Traditions. The MAMT is one of the most important initiatives of Fondazione Mediterraneo: an active space created in order to let communicate Arts, Music and Traditions of the Mediterranean contemporary society. The awareness of a past full of ancient traditions is the base for the construction of a rational and connected humanity: the vastness of the Mediterranean area collects together the responsibility, the hard work and intelligence with the ability to share spaces and cultures. Today, more than ever, the sense of future is given by the awareness of the sorrow, of the conflicts and at the same time by the ability to share joys and bond.
Art and Music are since ever the tool of communication and sharing of the humanity that, in a particular “Mediterranean” path, allows us to overtake the violence of the human being that showed itself in his greater brutality in countries as Bosnia, Palestine, Syria and other places: as testify of this there are Bosnia, in order not to forget and Suffering and Hope in the world, exhibitions of the museum.

At the same time there are symbols inviting to meeting and hope appear in lands of desolation and Hush: The Ferrigno Nativity Scene, the exhibition a Sea, three Faiths, the Peace and the Last Neapolitan Supper are part of the Museum.
Near the Totem of Peace and other works by Mario Molinari, sculptor of the color, accompanies the lonely journey of freedom, the Dreamlike World of John Crown and the desire of participation and recognition of the role of women in the Mediterranean in the exhibition “Breaking the Veils, women artists of Islamic World”.
Fado, Flamenco, Tango and Sirtaki, the Song of Naples, the Great Lyric Operas, Arabic Music and the Classics of all the times catch the attention of the audience with the acoustic perfection of the “Music hall” of the Museum.
The section dedicated to Pino Daniele has a particular meaning.
The warm of the Mediterranean human nature and the awareness of the necessity to keep track, the the wealth and the fertility find in the “Section Architecture” – with the Associated presences of Alvaro Siza, Ciamarra Picas, Vittorio Di Pace, Nicola Pagliara, Marco Introini and others - and in the Voices of the Migrants and other strong point.
The artworks of Pietro and Rino Volpe mark Mediterranean signs in which the culture and the literature merge with the creativity making a unique collection.
A collection of HD video about the most important sites of the Campania Region will accompany the tourists of cruises and the visitors in the whole building: the ground floor facing on Municipio Square will host an info-point unique in its kind. The MAMT is also an articulated system of services in the heart of the city of Naples: the library, the emeroteque, the music hall, salt conventions, the restaurants, the Euromedcafé, the residences and the bookshop receive the visitor with sympathy and enthusiasm: that enthusiasm of the Mediterranean!

THE PRINCE TURKI AL FAISAL AL SAUD VISITS MAMT – MUSEUM OF PEACE

SAR the prince Turki al Faisal al Saud – along with a delegation of personalities of Saudi Arabia head by the Ambassador in Italy Dr. Rayed Khalid A. Krimly – visited MAMT – Museum of Peace praising the level and fastness of multimedia requalification works.Talking with the workers and person in charge of the works he visited the Hall addressed to Saudi Arabia. The prince praised the involvement of Campania region which co-financed the multimedia requalification of the museum, defining it “a noble example of good practice”. In this occasion an important memorandum of understanding has been signed and under these conditions Saudi Arabia involves itself to realise the Arab section enrich it with finds, video, books which can testify how Arab-Islamic world had enriched the whole world. At the end of the visit prince Turki had an interview in 4k technology.

HRH the prince Turki al Faisal al Saud – along with a delegation of personalities from Saudi Arabia Dr Rayed Khalid A. Krimly – visited MAMT – Museum of Peace praising the level and fastness of multimedia requalification works which are in act in the building.
In this occasion the memorandum of understanding between Fondazione Mediterraneo and King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (chaired by the prince Turki al Faisal itself) under which Saudi Arabia compelled itself in the realization, in MAMT- Museum of Peace, of the section dedicated to its country, enriching the museum with finds, video and books as testify of the centuries of cooperation between Western and Arab-Islamic world and that enriched the whole world.

LORENZO AND EROS REMEMBER PINO, WAITING FOR MAMT MUSEUM

In occasion of the Jovanotti show at San Paolo stadium has been paid homage to Pino Daniele: in the same place in which more than 20 years ago the concert of Pino, Lorenzo and Eros took place.
His friend Lorenzo and  Eros, along with James Senese, paid homage to the great musician along with 50.000 people from the audience.
In this occasion Alessandro Daniele and Michele Capasso – president of  Fondazione Mediterraneo –talked with Lorenzo (Jovanotti) and with the mayor de Magistris about the upcoming section of MAMT museum dedicated to the passed away artist. Jovanotti praised and supported the initiative.

THE MAMT MUSEUM EXEMPLE OF GOOD PRACTICE

Three hundred people coming from different countries and involved in a challenge against the time: to finish in only 150 days the works of requalification and multimedia refunctionalization  of MAMT museum, financed partly by the POR FESR 2007-2013.
“It is the twenty five anniversary of the Foundation – affirmed the president Capasso – thanks to which has been possible to realize this Museum of the Emotions. Thanks to the involvement of companies and important cultural and scientific exponents coming from different countries it will be possible to finish the works by the 2015,  showing that will is power. And for the moment the operative meetings for the different sections are in course. Yesterday and today, 25 July,  Paolo Borrometi and Alessandro Daniele (curator) joined to the meeting of MAMT museum for the sections  “Pino Daniele” and “Legality”, about Sergio Pappalettera (multimedia tecnichal director) along with exponents of Italian and foreign industries who joined the works of multimedia requalification.
