Since 1994 Fondazione Mediterraneo acts as an active part in the Euro-Mediterranean Civil Society participating to Euro-Mediterranean Conferences and Euromed Civil Forums. In particular, Fondazione Mediterraneo organized the Euromed Civil Forums in Barcelona (1995) and in Naples (1997 and 2003) and contributed to the establishment of the NGO Euromed Platform.

| The President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso took part in the international seminar organised by the “Arab NGO Network for Development” with about 100 experts from various disciplines in the Euromed Countries. The theme was EUROPEAN – SOUTHERN MEDITERRANEAN RELATIONS: Discussing policies and partnerships to support economic and social rights and the role of civil society. During his speech, President Capasso referred to the 20 year commitment to Euro-Mediterranean partnership, the Euromed Civil forum organised by the Fondazione Mediterraneo, in addition to analyzing today’s challenges following the events of the “Arab Spring”. |

| The President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso made a succinct and widely appreciated speech to introduce the works of the Xth Congress of the Chouala Association, which is represented throughout the whole of Morocco. The organisation brings together hundreds of bodies dedicated to infancy issues and Civil Society. The founder of the Democracy Movement through the development of civil Society in Morocco, Mohamed Amadi was also present. Other speakers included the Mayor of Rabat Fatallah Oualalou, as well as Mohamed Achaari and Driss Guerraoui who is a member of the executive committee of the Fondazione Mediterraneo. |

During a meeting at Feltrinelli Bookshop in Naples there was the presentation of Alaa Al Aswani’s book “La rivoluzione egiziana” (The Egyptian Revolution), published by Feltrinelli.
On that occasion president Capasso recalled his long-standing friendship with the writer as well as the numerous battles carried out together in favour of freedom and democracy in Egypt and in Arab countries.
