The President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo, Architect Michele Capasso, went back to “Villa Vettica” in Amalfi after 33 years.
This Villa belonged to Carlo Ponti where Roman Polanski filmed “What?” in 1972. Michele Capasso spent his early years there with his future wife Rita and carried out numerous renovation works.

The "Terre Sonore" Festival took place in Minori under the patronage of the Casa del Maghreb Arabo and the Fondazione Mediterraneo and was dedicated to Tunisia.
The performance of the Tunisian singer Mbarka Ben Taleb was much appreciated.

President Capasso, the Mayor of Minori Minori Andrea Reale and the Tunisian Ambassador Naceur Mestiri spoke at the event.

An international conference dedicated to the theme of “Culture and cultural heritage: economic potential” took place in Minori.

The keynote speech was given by Professor Adalgiso Amendola, lecturer in International Economics at the University of Salento.

Guests of honour included H.E. Naceur Mestiri, Tunisian Ambassador in Rome, Michele Capasso, President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo, Hechmi Chatman, Representative of the Tunisian Agency for the Promotion of Foreign Investment, Abdelmalek Behiri, Representative of the Tunisian Tourist Office in Southern Italy.
