TOWARDS THE WORLD PEACE FORUM. CONVENTION "THE UNITED STATES OF EUROPE FOR A MEDITERRANEAN OF PEACE".

On the occasion of the European day and the 69th anniversary of the declaration of Robert Schuman (9 May 1950 - 9 May 2019) the Fondazione Mediterraneo, the Circolo  Città Unite of Abruzzo, the Torino Group 8 April, the Union of European journalists and communicators and the MANN Foundation organized the conference on "The United States of Europe for a Mediterranean of Peace": preparatory event for the WORLD PEACE FORUM that the Foundation is carrying out during this year 2019.
The conference took place at the G. B: Vico European Classical High School and was attended by a Belgian delegation and the students of the Olvhemelvart College of Belgium.
On this occasion, President Capasso presented the World Peace Forum, the Museum of Peace – MAMT and the section dedicated to Mario Molinari with the Totem for Peace.
Among the interventions the prefect of Chieti Giacomo Barbato.

TO THE PRESIDENT CAPASSO THE CELLULOSE AWARD OF ITALY (CELDIT)

On the occasion of the "European Day" - in the presence of the prefect of Chieti Giacomo Barbato and other authorities, students and representatives of Belgium - the "Cellulose Award of Italy (CEDIT) 2019” was awarded to President Michele Capasso for “his practical dedication in building dialogue and social and cultural cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean area”.

THE PRESIDENT CAPASSO MEETS THE PREFECT BARBATO

President Michele Capasso had a cordial meeting with the prefect of Chieti, Giacomo Barbato, with whom he examined the possibility of collaboration between the Fondazione Mediterraneo  and the institutional and associative realities of the Province of Chieti on the issues of peace and youth.

THE PRESIDENT CAPASSO MEETS THE KING FELIPE VI AND THE KING EMERITUS JUAN CARLOS I ° OF SPAIN

President Capasso met King Felipe VI and King Emeritus Juan Carlos I of Spain, to whom he has been linked for thirty years.
The then Prince Felipe supported the activities of the Fondazione Mediterraneo from the outset and, in particular, the Euromed Civil Forums in Barcelona (1995) and Naples (1997).
During the meeting the main stages of the Fondazione Mediterraneo and the solid collaboration with Spain were remembered.

THE PRESIDENT CAPASSO AT THE 13th COTEC EUROPA SYMPOSIUM

The President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarealla wanted to honor the Fondazione Mediterraneo by inviting President Michele Capasso to the 13th COTEC Europe Symposium and to the official lunch held in the Royal Palace of Naples in the presence of the King of Spain, Felipe VI, of King Emeritus Juan Carlos I° of Spain and of the President of the Republic of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
At the San Carlo theater in Naples, the 13th Cotec Europa Symposium - the annual institutional meeting between the Foundations for Innovation of Italy, Spain and Portugal for the competitive development of Mediterranean Europe - has emphasized the evolution of role and strategic structure of the Public Administration in light of the introduction and dissemination of new digital technologies. The central theme of the 2019 Symposium was "PA 4.0: Rethinking the Public Administration for a Digital World".
The proceedings opened with speeches by Jorge Barrero, COTEC Spain General Director, Jorge Portugal, COTEC Portugal General Director, Claudio Roveda, COTEC Italy General Director.
During the meeting the following took the floor: Rogelio Velasco, Head of the Department of Economics, Culture, Industry and University of the Andalusian Regional Government; Maria Manuel Leitão Marques, Professor at the University of Coimbra and former Minister for Public Administration Modernization; Luca Attias, Extraordinary Government Commissioner for the implementation of the Digital Agenda; a group of Roman high school students who participated in a competition announcement organized by the University Federico II of Naples.
The 13th edition of the Symposium closed with the speeches by the King of Spain, the President of the Portuguese Republic and the President of the Italian Republic, Honorary Presidents of the three COTEC Foundations, introduced by the President of COTEC Italy, Luigi Nicolais.
President Capasso thanked President Mattarella and met with King Felipe VI and Juan Carlos I of Spain, to whom he is linked by a long friendship.

THE MEDITERRANEAN AWARD FOR INSTITUTIONS 2019 AT THE CARABINIERI WEAPON

During the conference "The Carabinieri and the Italian identity" held in the museum complex of San Leucio, the president of the Fondazione Mediterraneo prof. Michele Capasso announced the assignment by international juries of the prestigious "MEDITERRANEAN AWARD FOR INSTITUTIONS 2019" to the Carabinieri Weapon.
