The World Peace Forum (WPF) is a meeting place to analyse the problems underlying conflicts and to identify the best strategies to consolidate a coalition of shared values and interests capable of securing PEACE and sustainable development.
The WPF involves the main political, economic, religious, cultural and social representatives of the various societies in order to analyse the causes of conflicts and to reform global and regional programs to secure and build a lasting PEACE with a fair distribution of resources and respect fundamental rights of the human person: in particular those of women and young people.

THE PROJECT
The project of the World Peace Forum (WPF) was proposed by the Fondazione Mediterraneo (FM) on the occasion of the Forum Civile Euromed (FCE) in Naples (1997): on that occasion the approximately 3,000 representatives of 36 countries - among them 700 young people - encouraged the Foundation to implement this action "to be repeated every year and in the same place".
The Fondazione Mediterraneo, with the Maison de la Paix (MDP) - committed since 1989 in the issues of dialogue and PEACE and aware of the responsibility to implement such an ambitious project - has deemed it appropriate to consolidate a long experience on the theme of PEACE before promoting its implementation. For these reasons, on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the FM (2019), the Governing Council - considering that 30 years of activities carried out on the issues that underlie civil coexistence for PEACE represent  an important and significant legacy - decided to consolidate the results obtained, in particular through the International Workshop for Peace, and to implement the World Peace Forum starting from 2019: an event intended as a global annual meeting on the theme of PEACE, in all facets of this great universal value.

THE GOALS
The World Peace Forum (WPF) is a meeting place to analyse the problems underlying conflicts and to identify the best strategies to consolidate a coalition of shared values and interests capable of securing PEACE and sustainable development.
The WPF involves the main political, economic, religious, cultural and social representatives of the various societies in order to analyse the causes of conflicts and to reform global and regional programs to secure and build a lasting PEACE with a fair distribution of resources and respect fundamental rights of the human person: in particular those of women and young people.

THE MISSION
The activities of the WPS are determined by an institutional culture based on dialogue and respect for all the parties involved in society, carefully melting and balancing the best of the various types of institutions and organizations, both in the public and private sectors, up to international organizations, academic institutions and civil society stakeholders from all over the world. The Mediterranean Foundation has founded its action believing that progress and PEACE can only develop by bringing together people of different social classes who possess the spirit, the influence and the ability to create a positive change in the processes of history and this assumption is at the basis of the World Peace Forum which - with the Maison de la Paix and the Museum of Peace - constitutes the main achievement of the Fondazione Mediterraneo.

THE WORLD PEACE FORUM IN NAPLES
Naples has always been the city of dialogue, integration and coexistence: the habit of hospitality and mutual respect, handed down from generation to generation, is its main social and human capital. Its heritage - environmental, artistic, architectural, archaeological and historical - is an extraordinary resource and  great events have left a trace in its history: at the same time Naples has increasingly proved to be an ideal place for young people who find themselves in the warmth and in the colors of the city and in the extraordinary friendliness of its inhabitants. The headquarters of the Maison de la Paix and the Museum of Peace ("emotional" heritage of humanity), in the historic building of the former "Grand Hotel de Londres" in Piazza Municipio, complete an ideal  scenario for hosting the annual Word Peace Forum. This legacy is further strengthened by the set of high-tech multimedia and digital archives present in the Peace Museum conference rooms that allow videoconferencing connections with every part of the world - through the new 4K technology - and the possibility of enjoying over 25,000 videos on the various countries of the world and on the theme of dialogue, integration and PEACE.
