The Maison de la Paix - Casa Universale delle Culture is a place strongly representative, in which will convey the knowledge of the different identities and cultures, structuring permanently initiatives aimed at the spreading of peace, necessary for the shared development.

The Maison de la Paix - Casa Universale delle Culture (MdP) is a project conceived by Michele Capasso, approved by many Countries and international organizations. It is an architecture that keeps the memory of many Peace activities which created history, often more than the wars, but it is – above all – a space "to build” Peace.

The architectonical complex has an important symbolic worth: it represents the Countries of the World engaged in the Peace process and the Countries victim of the conflicts.

Proposed by the Fondazione Mediterraneo with the “Maison des Alliances” – together with the main adherent organizations, such as the Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly, the League of Arab States, the "Anna Lindh" Euro-Mediterranean Foundation and others, the MdP represents a referent point for all the ones who dedicate their lives to peace.

The symbol of the MdP is the "Totem for Peace", an artwork by the Italian sculptor Mario Molinari which the Fondazione Mediterraneo is promoting all around the world, creating the network of the "Cities for Peace".

The first seat of the MdP was inaugurated on the 14th of June 2010 (Maison de la Paix - Casa Universale delle Culture) in the historical building of the Grand Hotel de Londres in Naples.

The action of the Maison de la Paix - Casa Universale delle Culture aims at improving the main activities of the "Universal Forum of Cultures" in: Barcelona (2004), Monterrey (2007), Valparaiso (2010) and Naples (2013).

The Maison de la Paix performs most of the initiatives jointly with the Maison de la Méditerranée.

 

THE FOUNDATION PARTICIPATES IN MANDELA DAY: DIALOGUE WITH THE CITIZENS

The president of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso spoke at the initiative of the Municipality of Naples for the centenary of the birth of Nelson Mandela.
Coordinated by Alderman Alessandra Sardu, the mayor of Naples Luigi De Magistris and the Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to Rome Shirish M.Soni participated.
On this occasion the values of equality and acceptance at the base of Mandela's life and action were underlined.

Alberto Varela together with Erik Moreno and part of the team of "Ayahuasca International Italia" - on tour in the south of Italy to inform and share the power of these natural instruments - was the protagonist of the conference held at the Museum of Peace - MAMT.
Welcomed by President Capasso, the speakers emphasized the importance of awakening conscience and opening up the heart to bring out our true Being.
"The new world of infinite possibilities, of rebirth, of recognizing yourself for what you really are .. everything is within you, and grows depending on how you relate to everything that is outside of you. Unity, Transformation, Change in perception, recognition of our essence ", stated Varela.
The conference focused on the revolution that is being created all over the world and on the use of shamanic and entheogenic instruments from the forest and the desert.
And to follow from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 July, there will be an Internal Evolution Retreat in the Fiuggi house. In this two-day and two-night retreat, Osho meditations will be performed, integrative group dynamics, dance, song and live music for emotional release. Furthermore, Alberto Varela will hold two lessons of Conscious School. One of the themes of vital importance for the transformation of the human being is: A NEW FAMILY MODEL.
How to free ourselves from the patterns and family beliefs that cause so much harm to children, adolescents and young people? Our organization is a family, and within it there are many blood families from many countries of the world, all those who are part of this family, whether it be a blood or spiritual relationship, we are enjoying the experience of understanding, love and freedom that we can live thanks to trust in this new model of relationship and communication. The other theme of the Conscious School is very current: HOW TO OVERCOME ATTACKS AND DEPENDENCES. Toxic relationships, decadent social contexts, and an educational, cultural and religious system that degrades the human being and exposes him to many disorders and imbalances.

THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTS THE JERASH FESTIVAL

The Foundation supports the Jerash Festival 2018. Music, dance and art from Jordan, the Arab world and the five continents are on stage until 4 August in Jordan, at the Jerash festival, against the backdrop of the ruins of the ancient Roman city. An event on which Jordan has announced its hopes of increasing the numbers of tourism, in crisis in recent years.

President Capasso on the occasion of the fifth year since the aisappearance of Abuna Paolo (Father Paolo Dall'Oglio) reminded the Museum of Peace MAMT - with videos, photos and documents - the Jesuit "in love with Islam and a believer in Jesus", as he loved to define himself.
So many memories and actions that have marked years of collaboration for dialogue and peace.
"I am still touched today - says Capasso - when to convince Muslims and Catholics to dialogue in a difficult moment of clashes and disputes, I disguised myself as Santa Claus to ease the tension: Paolo understood and, with a knowing look, encouraged me to continue".
He did not like to tell Paolo and when we gave him the EUROMED and MEDITERRANEAN AWARD he embraced us strongly saying that this recognition was for the whole monastic community and not for him.
