Don Bosco||The Power of Love

The spirit of Don Bosco and the Salesians present in 132 countries of the world is renewed in the "Virtual Salesian Oratory" of the Museum of Peace - Mamt: a unique and fascinating experience through 12 emotional itineraries and a visit to the Chapel with the relic of the "Saint of Young People" At a difficult time in our history Don Bosco's message for young people and with young people is more relevant than ever and constitutes the antidote against all forms of radicalism and fundamentalism, helping young people to become "Producers of the future" and "Hunters of the positive". The virtual Salesian Oratory and the emotional paths "Don Bosco, Power of Love" are realized by the Fondazione Mediterraneo and the General Direction Opere Don Bosco in collaboration with the South Salesian Province and the Salesians from all over the world.

 

 

 

President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo and Secretary General of the United States of the World Michele Capasso spoke at the ceremony for the 70° anniversary of religious blessing of Sister Maria Pia Giudici and the 50° of sister Maria Letizia e Sister Filomena.
At the presence of church’s members, youngs and devotous followers bond to the order and to sister Maria Pia Giudici, Michele Capasso illustrated the next "World Youth Day" scheduled to take place in Naples on 4 October 2014.
On this occasion, he awarded the title of "Standard Bearers" to the young people present and committed to the values of the United States of the World.

On the occasion of Sister Maria Pia Giudici’s 90th birthday, at the San Biagio House of Prayer - which she founded - a conference was held  on the subject of “Science and Faith” by the physicist  Ugo Amaldi. President  Michele Capasso took part in the event and highlighted the importance of Sister Maria Pia Giudici’s message of charity and simplicity.

On the occasion  of Sister Maria Pia Giudici’s 90th birthday  celebrated at  the San Biagio House of Prayer  – which she founded – a day of festivities and a special mass were celebrated – under the rain – by Don Ferdinando Colombo assisted by Don Mario Maritano and Don Michele Vojtas.

President Michele Capasso, who was clearly moved by the occasion, emphasized the importance of charity and simplicity expressed through Sister Maria Pia Giudici’s works, especially those relating to dialogue among religions and different cultures.

His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI gave his apostolic Blessing for this occasion.

On the occasion of Sister Maria Pia Giudici’s 90th birthday celebrated at the San Biagio House of Prayer – which she founded – a ceremony was held to present her with the “The Mediterranean Award for Interreligious Dialogue”.

President Michele Capasso was moved to tears as he announced the reasons given by the international jury in awarding her this prestigious prize, which in the past has been awarded to illustrious personalities such as the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Fouad Twal, Leah Rabin and Naguib Mahfouz.

The President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo, Michele Capasso, presented the 2012 Mediterranean Award for Peace and Inter-religious Dialogue to Sister Maria Pia Giudici “for her commitment and dedication to peace and dialogue among different faiths and secular culture, and who through her warmth and love in her quest for simplicity and spirituality helps others to look inside themselves and rediscover the will to love themselves and one another”.

By video, Sister Maria Pia Giudici expressed her appreciation of the Award. The official ceremony for the presentation of the award and a day of study will be held on 30 September 2012 at the Casa di Preghiera “San Biagio” in Subiaco.

Members of the Fondazione Mediterraneo took part together with representatives from different countries including diplomats and dignitaries from the world of culture, science, politics, religion and the armed forces, the Mayors of the Amalfi Coast (UNESCO cultural heritage) who support and promote the “Totem for Peace” (by Mario Molinari).

Those attending included:
