The Museum of Peace - MAMT hosted the 6th Mediterranean Summit on legality and the fight against the mafia.
Organized by the Fondazione Mediterraneo, the Fondazione Caponnetto and the Mediterranean Observatory on Organized Crime and the Mafias, the Summit saw the participation of representatives from the world of politics, the judiciary, culture and experts on the issues of legality and the fight against the mafia .

The Fondazione Mediterraneo and the Caponnetto Foundation organized the 1st Summit on the theme "The United States of Europe".
The event takes place on the occasion of the thirty-year anniversary of the Fondazione Mediterraneo and on the eve of the WORLD PEACE FORUM.
Among the speeches were those by Senator Lumia, Presidents Capasso and Calleri and by dr. Antoci.
On this occasion - in connection with 12 European countries - the problems concerning the United States of Europe were analyzed and a series of resolutions were proposed, essentially concerning the need to promote high education for the European ruling classes.
At the end of the Summit the participants went to the Churchill Room of the Peace Museum - MAMT where President Calleri read Zurich's speech on the need for the "United States of Europe".
President Capasso underlined the commitment of the Fondazione Mediterraneo on the same issue since 1989 and the timeliness of the manifesto presented on that occasion.
The event was held in collaboration with the "Maison des Alliances" and the "Anna Lindh Italia Onlus Federation".

Presented the work of Salvatore Calleri, president of the Antonino Caponnetto Foundation and co-chair of the OMCOM - the Mediterranean Observatory on Organized Crime and the Mafias created with the Fondazione Mediterraneo and its president Michele Capasso.
The book is entitled Manual of survival (to the mafia). For the author it is a book "that explains the mafia through the clichés. A book that teaches us to see, to recognize the mafia. An educational manual that allows you to survive the mafia".
The volume has a preface by Catello Maresca, pm in Naples and from 2007 to the District Anti-Mafia Directorate where he coordinated the arrest of the fugitive boss Michele Zagaria for 16 years: "This is a book that I feel very close to, like an extra weapon to fight the mafia, which fears words, those that communicate its authentic reality, and make it known, and understood. Together, with the commitment and passion of all those who believe in this battle, the Mafia can defeat it, "he wrote in his preface Maresca.
Born in Catania in 1966, grew up in Florence, Salvatore Calleri graduated in law. From 1992 until December 2002 he was one of Caponnetto's closest collaborators. On the idea of ​​the judge's widow, Calleri helped establish the foundation of studies on the mafia which took place in Florence in June 2003 six months after the magistrate's death.
Carabinieri general Vadala was present and the former president of the anti-mafia commission Giuseppe Lumia.
President Michele Capasso, OMCOM co-chairman and president of the Fondazione Mediterraneo, congratulated the author for the quality of the work, sharing its values ​​and aims.

Common places of the mafia and investments in the world of works of art: these were the issues addressed in the XXV National Anti-Mafia Summit held on Saturday, December 1 in Florence and in Bagno a Ripoli. Organized by the Antonino Caponnetto Foundation, in collaboration with the Mediterranean Observatory on Organized Crime and the Mafia (OMCOM), Fondazione Mediterraneo, the Anna Lindh Italia Onlus Federation, the Tuscan Journalists' Association and Euromedia, the summit has now become a consolidated event in the fight panorama to the mafia and to crime.
On Saturday morning, from 9 to 12, at the CRF Auditorium in Florence, a training course for journalists was held entitled "Crime investments in works of art": Claudio Loiodice, a criminologist and expert in international recycling, met , Nicola Candido, colonel commander of NO Carabinieri T.P: C., Claudio Metzger, historian and consultant, lawyer. Lavinia Savini, expert in intellectual property law and art market law and Senator Giuseppe Lumia, former president of the Parliamentary Commission. The TG1 journalist Daria Mondini moderated the debate.
In the afternoon, from 3 pm, in Bagno a Ripoli, the veritable summit was held, centered on the theme "A death every now and then, the clichés on the mafia".
The National Anti-Mafia Summit was chaired by Salvatore Calleri, president of the Caponnetto Foundation, and Victoria Allegra Boga. The best exponents of the Mafia among investigative journalists, law enforcement officials, magistrates, sociologists, art experts, anti-money laundering experts and politicians have intervened.
