The Fondazione Mediterraneo promotes the establishment of the Observatory for Women’s Needs

The President of the Fonndazione Mediterraneo, Michele Capasso and the Director the  “young people, women and creativity” sector, Pia Molinari, held an official meeting with a delegation from the National Union of Moroccan Women (UNFM) to draw up a Cooperation Protocol for the establishment of an “Observatory for Women’s Needs” aimed at answering the problems of violence, illiteracy, gender equality and human rights, etc.

Visit to the Training Center of the National Union of Moroccan Women

The President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso and  the Director of the “young people, women and creativity” sector, Pia Molinari, visited the Training Center of the National Union of Moroccan Women.
After being welcomed by the Vice President, Mrs. Babea El Merini and a delegation of Moroccan women, they visited the school, the center for literacy and the training halls (dress-making, cookery, computers, etc.).

Her Royal Highness, Princess Lalla Meryem received “The ‘Rita Allamprese’ Mediterranean Award for Children”

Her Royal Highness, Princess Lalla Meryem received “The ‘Rita Allamprese’ Mediterranean Award for Children” from  Prof. Michele Capasso, Founder-President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo for Peace.
This prestigious award is conferred by the International Committee of the Fondazione Mediterraneo, composed of eminent personalities, in recognition of work performed in defense of children’s rights.
“By granting this acclaimed award, the Fondazione Mediterraneo also intends to pay tribute to His Royal Highness  Mohammed VI for his determination to lead his people towards a society based on the rule of law and justice, where children will be entitled to enjoy all forms of protection”, as was by emphasized President Capasso.
“The ‘Rita Allamprese’ Mediterranean Award for Children” was inaugurated by conferring it upon Her Royal Highness, Princess Lalla Meryem. By doing so, the international community acknowledged her contribution to children as the President of the National Observatory for Children’s Rights (ONDE) since 1995 and as the President of the Children’s Parliament and the Moroccan Association in support of UNICEF, respectively.
This is why she was appointed one of the UNESCO Goodwill Ambassadors in July 2011. HRH Princess Lalla Meryem is also the President of the Hassan II Royal Foundation for Social Works for ex-Servicemen and Veterans and the Royal Foundation for Moroccans living abroad.
The “Mediterranean Award” was instituted in 1996 by the Fondazione Mediterraneo and is awarded annually to key personalities from the worlds of politics, culture and art for their contribution and actions to disseminate the values of solidarity and dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean area.
This illustrious Award was made in honor of His Royal Highness Hassan II in 1999 for his pioneering role in championing the ideals of dialogue and tolerance..
President Capasso also expressed his contentment that his section of the Award should be dedicated to the memory of his late wife, Rita Allamprese, in recognition of her role and actions for the Fondazione Mediterraneo in support of abandoned children.

Pia Molinari and Michele Capasso present the Tricolor Peace Totem to King Mohammed VI

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, Michele Capasso and Pia Molinari presented a statue of the “Tricolor Peace Totem” to the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI.

On that occasion, a project was also commenced to create the monumental work by the sculptor, Mario Molinari, in the colors of the Moroccan national flag.

President Capasso makes a gift of his book “Nostro Mare Nostro” to Princess Lalla Meryem

The President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo, Michele Capasso, made a gift of his book “Nostro Mare Nostro” to Princess Lalla Meryem, who expressed her appreciation for the action taken by the Fondazione to promote dialogue and peace in the Mediterranean and throughout the world.

Michele Capasso, President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo and Pia Molinari made a gift of the “Totem for Peace” by the sculptor Mario Molinari to Princess Lalla Meryem, who expressed her appreciation for this symbol of dialogue and peace disseminated throughout the Mediterranean and the whole world by the Fondazione.

HRH The Princess Lalla Meryem gave public appreciation for the book “NostroMareNostro” by Michele Capasso (Ed. D Libri – Fondazione Mediterraneo) stressing the pragmatism and concrete action carried out by Michele Capasso in the last twenty years in favour of dialogue and of peace.

“This book demonstrates the importance of dialogue, of democracy and of human rights in Euromediterranean cooperation: an example for all of us”.

The Fondazione Mediterraneo promotes the establishment of the Mediterranean Observatory for Children

The President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo, Michele Capasso and  the Director of the “young people, women and creativity” sector, Pia Molinari took part in an official meeting with the Executive Director of the National Observatory for Children’s Rights of Morocco, Said Raji, and the Vice-President, Amina El Malki Tazi, to lend their support to the establishment of the Mediterranean observatory for Children.

Among others, the meeting dealt with the issues of listening (above all in relation to violence against children), education (against illiteracy), protection and health.

Meeting with the National Observatory of Children’s Rights in Morocco

The President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo, Michele Capasso and the  Director of the “young people, women and creativity” sector, Pia Molinari, had an formal meeting with an officer from the National Observatory for Children’s Rights of Morocco in order to sign partnership agreements in defense  of Child Rights in the Mediterranean.

Capasso and Molinari were welcomed by the Executive Director Said Raji and the Vice President, Amina El Malki Tazi.
